The amplification it provides allows a DMX link to be extended over the maximum length specified by the DMX-512 standard. Each branch is managed as an independent DMX data link and optical isolation ensures that a failure on one branch will have no effect on the other branches. Up to 32 fixtures can be attached to each branch. Several splitter amplifiers can be used on the same link if additional branches are required.
